Film/literature and Television inspiration – Fantastic Beasts and where to find them

Originally a book by J.K Rowling as an extra to the Harry Potter saga, it was made for the charity comic relief an alongside Quidditch through the ages, raised £17 million. It was published in 2001. The way the book is presented and written, is of huge inspiration because its been made out to have been Harry Potter school text book, and included scribbles from the iconic trio.

It was designed as if it is real, as if the wizarding world of Harry Potter is in fact real, but just hidden away (from us smuggles). It is written through the eyes of Newt Scamander, a wizard who travels to New York with a suitcase full of fantastic beasts.

I’m still currently choosing/creating a mythical creature for my story, but reading Fantastic Beasts has been a huge help. I really like the idea of the suitcase carrying everything and I think instead of finding a huge chest full of photos and old paper work, it will be a suitcase, because this then represents her feelings towards travel and exploring.
